Recap: Wabash Apaches vs. Manchester Squires
The Wabash Apaches pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-58 to Manchester. Wabash was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Manchester apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Despite the loss, Wabash still got an impressive performance from Izaak Wright, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. Kaden Vogel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Gavin Betten continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Manchester, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds. Betten is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hendrix, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Wabash's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Manchester, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wabash will take on Mississinewa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mississinewa will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Manchester, they will head out on the road to square off against Rochester at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
