Basketball Recap: Walther Christian Academy's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Walther Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 66-52 bruising from the College Prep of America Thunder. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunder from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

It was another big night for Hamzah Shouman, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds for College Prep of America. Shouman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 20 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Abu Bakr Hasan, who posted 15 points.

Walther Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-11. As for College Prep of America, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-11.

Walther Christian Academy will welcome Ida Crown Jewish Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ida Crown Jewish Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three matches. As for College Prep of America, they and Westmont will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Westmont has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
