Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

Calvary Christian suffered their closest loss since December 10, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers by a score of 42-40. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-44 back in November of 2024.

Defeat or not, Calvary Christian got some senior leadership from Philip Davie and Zeeke Wylie. Davie went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and seven boards, while Wylie posted 12 points and five rebounds. What's more, Davie also posted a 70% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024.

Calvary Christian dropped their record down to 4-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.

Calvary Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-40 defeat against Urbana on the 11th. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-40 loss against Fairlawn on the 11th.
