Arcadia is 0-4 against Hopewell-Loudon since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Redskins will host the Chieftains at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Arcadia proved they can win big on Monday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Riverdale 13-12. With that victory, the Redskins brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Alanna Tucker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off 14 hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Arcadia got a massive performance out of Jade Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that Johnson hit this season. Addyson McCartney was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Arcadia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hopewell-Loudon got the win against St. Mary Central Catholic on Wednesday by a conclusive 18-1. The Chieftains might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Arcadia, Hopewell-Loudon also got a great game from a two-way player: Brynn Sendelbach. On the mound, Sendelbach tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Araceli Velasquez pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Sendelbach scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Velasquez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AnneMarie Berg, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Brickner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The win got Arcadia back to even at 6-6. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Arcadia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hopewell-Loudon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
