Football Recap: Portland Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Portland and Nolensville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Portland had to settle for second. They came up short against the Knights, falling 30-6. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Portland lost, don't look at Alex Nyswonger. Despite the final result, he rushed for 64 yards and one score.

A big part of Nolensville's win came down to the chemistry between Ryan Newell and his top target Oliver Bender. Newell rushed for 131 yards and one TD on only 14 carries while Bender picked up 101 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 131 rushing yards gave Newell a new career-high.

Portland now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Nolensville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Portland nor Nolensville have any future games scheduled.
