Basketball Recap: JJ Huff's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnson County over Hancock Central

Johnson County lost against Hancock Central last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Johnson County Trojans took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hancock Central Bulldogs.

Johnson County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JJ Huff, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. Those 12 points gave Huff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Wright, who went 6-for-10 en route to 12 points.

Dontriel Grable was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 6-for-8 to rack up 18 points.

Johnson County's record now sits at 8-12. As for Hancock Central, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Johnson County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-61 win against Twiggs County on the 14th. As for Hancock Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-43 victory against Wilkinson County on the 14th.
