Basketball Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy vs. Thomas Sumter Academy Generals
Palmetto Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Thomas Sumter Academy 73-36 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-22.
Cokey Suddeth was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Palmetto Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelaide Suddeth, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Palmetto Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmetto Christian Academy will challenge the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Orangeburg Prep will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
