Recap: Providence Day Chargers vs. Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Providence Day Chargers walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-14 victory over Metrolina Christian Academy. Providence Day might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine contests by 34 points or more this season.
Leading Providence Day to victory were Jaylen Himes and Jadyn Davis. Himes picked up 104 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Davis threw for 249 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Ian Cline, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
When it comes to explaining why Metrolina Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthew Gaskins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Gaskins really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
The victory makes it two in a row for Providence Day and bumps their season record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45.5 points. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Providence Day's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Charlotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Charlotte Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 126 points over their last three matchups. Metrolina Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
