West Anchorage faced West Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the win. The West Anchorage Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the West Valley Wolf Pack's three. Amine Abakar had the honor of scoring the game-winner for West Anchorage.

West Anchorage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 59 goals over those 14 contests. As for West Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8-1.
