Southern Guilford has gone a perfect 7-0 against Atkins recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Storm will be playing in front of their home fans against the Camels at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Southern Guilford is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rockingham County just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Storm have suffered since May 1, 2024.

Kenly Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Madison Goins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.

Meanwhile, Atkins came up short against Glenn on Wednesday, falling 18-2. The Camels haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Atkins' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Southern Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Southern Guilford took their victory against Atkins in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 15-2 score. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Camels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
