Softball Recap: St. Mary Gets the Win

St. Mary posted their closest win since May 17, 2025 on Friday. They skirted past the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators 7-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-4 back in April.

Emilia Meyers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jaylene Echeverry, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Mary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

St. Mary's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

St. Mary will challenge St. John-Vianney at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they will square off against Eastern Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
