Basketball Recap: Lumen Christi Find Success

If Ninilchik wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lumen Christi, they should've done a better job of containing Amara Warren. The Lumen Christi Archangels couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 48-9 blowout they got against the Ninilchik Wolverines thanks in part to Warren, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lumen Christi's points.

Kaylee Connaker was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds. Those five rebounds gave her a new career-high.

The victory got Lumen Christi back to even at 2-2. As for Ninilchik, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Lumen Christi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-33 loss against Seward on the 4th. As for Ninilchik, they will welcome Cook Inlet Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
