Volleyball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Monroe can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Gig Harbor Tides on Friday. The Bearcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Monroe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Gig Harbor, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gig Harbor, they will face off against Lakes at 11:45 a.m. on Friday.
