Soccer Recap: Carver College and Career Academy Comes Up Short

Carver College and Career Academy and Mathews pushed the score to 9-1 the last time they played Mathews, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Wolverines fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Carver College and Career Academy have lost by just one goal.

Carver College and Career Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Mathews, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1-1.

Looking ahead, Mathews will square off against West Point at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mathews will need to watch out since West Point have now posted at least four goals in their last three contests. Carver College and Career Academy will be paying especially close attention to Mathews' game: after Mathews faces off against King & Queen Central, they'll take on Carver College and Career Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on May 7.
