Basketball Recap: Oswego's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road contest was the charm for Oswego, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took down the Joliet Central Steelmen 53-35 on Friday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Steelmen are ranked 585th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Joliet Central lost, don't look at James Lee. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bernal Fox, who posted nine points.

Oswego's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Joliet Central, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Oswego wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-51 win against Wheaton-Warrenville South on the 26th. As for Joliet Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-25 loss against Normal Community on the 26th.
