Softball Game Preview: Wakulla War Eagles vs. Enterprise Wildcats

The Wakulla War Eagles will face off against the Enterprise Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Wakulla: 2, Enterprise: 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wakulla's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Lincoln. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Lincoln's batters probably weren't too happy with Charley Butler, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Furthermore, Butler didn't allow a single hit, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Stubbs, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. Allison Stephens was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Wakulla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted an OBP of .000.

Meanwhile, Enterprise waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 5-0. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly five runs.

Enterprise's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Wakulla, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
