Softball Recap: Hamilton County's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Hamilton County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Flora Wolves 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Foxes: when they faced off against the Wolves two weeks ago, they had to take a 8-4 defeat.

Colebie Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over 12 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kelsie Ashcraft, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Hamilton County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 4-2 when they post two or more home runs.

With the win, Hamilton County broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-15. As for Flora, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Hamilton County will take on Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Flora, they will square off against Edwards County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
