Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cajon). They put the hurt on the University Prep Jaguars with a sharp 18-4 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Cowboys brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Madison Gallardo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gallardo was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Ilene Garcia was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. She also scored two runs, marking her first of the season. Andrea Romero was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Cajon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Cajon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for University Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Looking ahead, Cajon will be taking part in a tournament against Victor Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.25 runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for University Prep, they will face off against Hesperia Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
