Millard West scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 70-62 to the Omaha Westside Warriors. The Wildcats have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reece Carson, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Jayden Kozney was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points.

Emre Gedik continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Omaha Westside, going 9 for 16 on his way to 24 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Gedik a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Odvody, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Millard West now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Omaha Westside, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Millard West will take on Papillion-LaVista South in a tournament on December 28th. Papillion-LaVista South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Millard West likes a good challenge. As for Omaha Westside, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-42 win against Grand Island on the 21st.
