Baseball Recap: Beau Chene's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Beau Chene can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northside Christian Warriors a 4-0 shutout. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Not much got past Colton Marks, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Northside Christian off the board. Beau Chene is 2-1 when Marks allows two or fewer hits, but 3-25 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Wheaton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Conner Chautin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Beau Chene's victory bumped their record up to 5-26. As for Northside Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beau Chene will challenge Crowley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northside Christian, they will square off against Lake Charles College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
