Basketball Game Preview: Winside Wildcats vs. Homer Knights

The Winside Wildcats will head out to take on the Homer Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Winside is leaving town to face Homer after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Winside took a blow against Wynot on Friday, falling 70-33. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Winside had strong showings from Jahiem Hamik, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Brayden Lurz, who earned eight points. The dominant performance also gave Lurz a new career-high in boards (three).

Meanwhile, Homer came up short against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Tuesday, falling 60-39.

Everything came up roses for Winside against Homer in their previous meeting back in February, as the squad secured a 67-33 victory. Will Winside repeat their success, or does Homer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
