Softball Recap: Chavez Eagles vs. Grant Lancers

Chavez can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Grant Lancers with a sharp 16-3 win. Winning may never get old, but Chavez sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Kailey Duran and Mya Corona made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Duran pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Corona pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Duran scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Corona scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Chavez got a massive performance out of Viviana Villasenor, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Abigail Hurtado, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

On Grant's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Naomi Patterson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Chavez has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4-1 record this season. As for Grant, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Chavez will be playing at home against North Hollywood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chavez will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Grant, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grant is facing Monroe at the right time seeing as Monroe is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
