Soccer Recap: Batesburg-Leesville's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Batesburg-Leesville brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Their defense stepped up to hand the American Leadership Academy Patriots a 4-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for Batesburg-Leesville as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

They hit American Leadership Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jamin Rodriguez, Riley Whittle, Avelardo Cabrera, and Landen Burgess.

Batesburg-Leesville picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for American Leadership Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Batesburg-Leesville and American Leadership Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time Batesburg-Leesville sees the pitch they'll take on Pelion at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for American Leadership Academy, their break will end when they face Greenwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
