Baseball Game Preview: Richards Bulldogs vs. De La Salle Meteors

The Richards Bulldogs will square off against the De La Salle Meteors at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Richards sitting on five straight victories and De La Salle on four.

On Tuesday, Richards was able to grind out a solid win over Blue Island Eisenhower, taking the game 5-1.

Meanwhile, De La Salle earned an 8-5 victory over Rich Township on Thursday.

Francisco Rodriguez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Joel Montgomery was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: De La Salle lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rich Township didn't launched any home runs.

Richards pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for De La Salle, their win bumped their record up to 11-21.

Richards might still be hurting after the 16-10 loss they got from De La Salle in their previous matchup back in June of 2021. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
