Volleyball Game Preview: Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack vs. Oak Park-River Forest Huskies

The Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack are taking a road trip to take on the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Saint Ignatius College Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Nazareth Academy by a score of 2-0.

Saint Ignatius College Prep never let Nazareth Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24.

If Fenwick wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Oak Park-River Forest, they should've done a better job of containing Erin Dwyer. The Huskies walked away with a 2-0 win over the Friars on Tuesday thanks in part to Dwyer, who had 12 assists and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Oak Park-River Forest took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-14.

Oak Park-River Forest has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, their record is now 23-6.

Saint Ignatius College Prep skirted past Oak Park-River Forest 2-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
