Volleyball Recap: Copper Hills' Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Copper Hills came into Thursday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Westlake Thunder 3-0 on Thursday. The Grizzlies not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 28, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

While Copper Hills won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-14, 25-18.

Katarina Kovacevic paced Copper Hills' offense, picking up nine kills. Kovacevic got some help from Paige Jensen and her 26 assists. Kovacevic was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Copper Hills' win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-12. As for Westlake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Copper Hills will take on rival Cedar Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westlake is set to challenge their familiar foe Bingham at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
