Basketball Game Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. Mohawk Warriors

The Lucas Cubs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Mohawk Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lucas has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Lucas is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Central Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lucas had to suffer through a 79-47 loss at the hands of Central Christian. The Cubs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.

Meanwhile, Mohawk fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Colonel Crawford on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 53-50. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mohawk fell to 7-1. As for Lucas, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Lucas didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mohawk in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lucas since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
