Basketball Recap: Broomfield Wins Going Away Against Longmont

Broomfield lost to Longmont back in December of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Broomfield Eagles were the clear victor by a 69-49 margin over the Longmont Trojans.

Joey Cook was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 16 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Dunn, who posted six points along with eight boards and four blocks.

Broomfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rhys Odom, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Lombrano, who earned seven points.

Broomfield is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Longmont, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broomfield has already played their next game (against Erie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Longmont will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Longmont is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season.
