Basketball Recap: Silver Bluff Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Deshawn Wells and Jordan Williams

After flying high against Horse Creek Academy last Wednesday, Silver Bluff came back down to earth. The Silver Bluff Bulldogs lost to the Augusta Christian Lions on the road by a 65-47 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 143rd in South Carolina, while the Lions are ranked 20th in Georgia).

Silver Bluff's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Williams and Deshawn Wells. Williams dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Wells posted 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Hieke Jr., who had four points.

Silver Bluff moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Augusta Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Silver Bluff didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-45 loss against Mid-Carolina on the 21st. As for Augusta Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 72-56 victory against Batesburg-Leesville on the 21st.
