Flag Football Recap: Montclair Falls Despite Big Games from Izzie Martinez and Tatianna Valenzuela

Montclair fell victim to Don Lugo and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conquistadores. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cavaliers were not able to get on the board.

Montclair's loss came despite strong showings from Tatianna Valenzuela and Izzie Martinez. Valenzuela rushed for 147 yards on only nine carries, while Martinez gained 118 total yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Montclair and nudges their season record down to 8-6. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 20 points in those games. As for Don Lugo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-12-1.

Montclair wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 33-19 defeat against Ontario on the 13th. As for Don Lugo, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Chino on the 13th.
