Basketball Recap: Jerdarrius Jackson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Marion over Atlantic

North Marion and Atlantic squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but North Marion had to settle for second. They lost 67-46 to the Atlantic Sharks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Colts have suffered since December 29, 2024.

North Marion's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jerdarrius Jackson, who posted 18 points and six steals. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Coy Sizemore, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 17 points.

Atlantic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emmanuel Martin out in front who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Martin has posted since back in December of 2024. Mekhi Yan was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

North Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Atlantic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

North Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atlantic, they will square off against Eustis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Eustis comes in on five and Atlantic on four.
