Softball Recap: Lakin Takes a Loss

Lakin lost against Colby on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lakin fell just short of Colby by a score of 13-12. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Broncs still had to take the loss.

Lileah Villa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Peters, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Lakin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Colby, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Lakin and Colby will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Lakin is set to challenge their familiar foe Stanton County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Colby will square off against rival Goodland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
