Softball Recap: Tough Loss for Dougherty

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dougherty's offense. They came up short against the Columbus Blue Devils, falling 21-0. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Dougherty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alona Harris, who went a perfect 1-for-1 while logging 1 double.

On Columbus' side, Emily Balauitan was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances while posting 3 runs, 1 double, and 1 stolen base. Those three runs set a new season-high mark for Balauitan.

Dougherty has now lost seven of their last nine games at home. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Columbus, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.

While Dougherty had to take the loss this time, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
