Volleyball Recap: New Hanover Comes Up Short

New Hanover lost against Laney back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Buccaneers. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-16.

Kayden Perez paced New Hanover's offense, picking up five kills. Perez got some help from Rylee Wortman and her eight assists. Perez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

New Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Laney, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hanover will host South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Laney, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
