Basketball Recap: Scarborough Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Cheverus

Scarborough posted their closest win since February 21st on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cheverus Stags, sneaking past 47-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Red Storm's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Stags are ranked seventh).

Scarborough now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cheverus, the loss snapped their winning streak at 25 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 7-1 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scarborough will host South Portland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheverus, they will welcome Edward Little at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
