Baseball Game Preview: Norwell Knights vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints

The Norwell Knights will challenge the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Norwell comes in on four and Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on three.

Norwell is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-8 margin over Bellmont. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Drew Graft, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Norwell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Logan Cotton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

At the plate, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braden Aguirre, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jeremy Haynes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's victory bumped their record up to 23-8. As for Norwell, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.

Norwell might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger in their previous matchup back in June of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
