Football Recap: Ontonagon Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Ontonagon extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They received a blow as they fell 60-42 to the North Central Jets. The Gladiators were down 60-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for North Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points over those games.

Ben Stage was his usual excellent self, rushing for 112 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 70 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Riley Cretens was in the mix too, providing North Central with three scores.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ontonagon will head out to face off against Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Gogebic [Johnston/Wakefield] at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jets will need to watch out since the Miners have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
