Basketball Game Preview: Carlmont Scots vs. Mountain View Spartans

Carlmont and Mountain View are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. Both will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

Carlmont is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Menlo-Atherton just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 62-60. While losing is never fun, the Scots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Bears are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Los Gatos on Friday, taking the game 48-41.

The victory got Mountain View back to even at 8-8. As for Carlmont, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-8.

Carlmont strolled past Mountain View when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 49-34. Does Carlmont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mountain View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
