After a string of four wins, Chula Vista's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 5-2 to the Southwest SD Raiders. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

Chula Vista saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Chula Vista's loss dropped their record down to 10-7-2. As for Southwest SD, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.

Looking ahead, Chula Vista will square off against Sweetwater at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Southwest SD, they will take on Mar Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mariners will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
