Recap: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Nogales Apaches
The Flowing Wells Caballeros had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Nogales on the road to the tune of 42-0. For Flowing Wells, this counts as revenge for the 13-6 defeat Nogales walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Josyah Monarrez was on fire: he rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards. Alfredo Guzman and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Flowing Wells' victory.
Flowing Wells' victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Nogales, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Flowing Wells will take on Maricopa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Maricopa is ranked 123rd, while Flowing Wells is ranked 145th). As for Nogales, they will head out on the road to face off against Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tucson High Magnet School will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
