Softball Recap: Blaine's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Bellingham last Monday, Blaine came back down to earth. Blaine came up short against the Ferndale Golden Eagles on Wednesday, falling 15-5. The Borderites were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Courtney Roff and Maddi Musto stepped up to the plate in a big way. Roff scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Musto scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Blaine fell to 2-1. As for Ferndale, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blaine will face off against Oak Harbor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blaine's pitchers better be ready for this one: Oak Harbor has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Ferndale, they will square off against Squalicum at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ferndale is facing Squalicum at the right time seeing as Squalicum is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
