Football Recap: Middletown North Takes a Loss

Middletown North fell victim to Red Bank Catholic and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 37-0 defeat at the hands of the Caseys. The Lions have struggled against the Caseys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Owen Robson threw for 131 yards on 16 of 23 attempts. Jack Viola was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards. On the ground, Matthew Belenko rushed for 33 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Middletown North fell to 2-1. As for Red Bank Catholic, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Coming up, Middletown North is taking a road trip to face off against Rumson-Fair Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Red Bank Catholic, they will host Holmdel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Caseys will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
