Soccer Game Preview: Walled Lake Western vs. St. Mary's Prep

The Walled Lake Western Warriors will face off against the St. Mary's Prep Eaglets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Walled Lake Western and Kettering, and Walled Lake Western kept the tradition alive. The Warriors never let the Captains get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Walled Lake Western needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, St. Mary's Prep made sure to put some goals up on the board against Avondale on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 6-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for St. Mary's Prep as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

St. Mary's Prep's win bumped their record up to 5-7-3. As for Walled Lake Western, they now have a winning record of 9-8-2.

Walled Lake Western came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Mary's Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Eaglets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
