Basketball Recap: Academy of Richmond County Falls Short of Jenkins in the Playoffs

Academy of Richmond County and Jenkins squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Academy of Richmond County had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Jenkins Warriors and fell 81-14. The contest marked the Musketeers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jenkins to victory, but perhaps none more so than I'Yarna Lee, who went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points and five assists. Lee has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Browner, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and five steals.

Academy of Richmond County's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Jenkins, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-8.

Academy of Richmond County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jenkins, they will face off against Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Jenkins has won six straight at home, while Jefferson won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
