With a playoff win on the line, Tyrone rose to the challenge on Monday. They skirted past the Avonworth Antelopes 5-3. The win was nothing new for the Golden Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.
Brandon McClure made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
McClure wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bryden Parsons, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Parsons is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Tyrone's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Avonworth, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.
