Football Recap: Baker County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Baldwin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baker County). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Baldwin Indians 51-48. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Baldwin lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Stephen Screws, who threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns. Nashawn Jacobs helped Screws out on the ground, rushing for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, while also picking up 32 receiving yards and one score.

Baker County's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Baldwin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Baker County and Baldwin will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats will face off against rival Godby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Baldwin is set to square off against their familiar foe Bolles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
