Baseball Recap: Grosse Ile Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grosse Ile came into Saturday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Trenton Trojans on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Devils: when they faced off against the Trojans on Saturday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Cooper Mott made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Grosse Ile's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 3-15 when he doesn't). Mott was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Myers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Gavin Nappa was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Grosse Ile's win bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Trenton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Grosse Ile is taking a road trip to challenge Flat Rock at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Trenton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Anderson at 4:00 p.m.
