Lowell extended the longest winning streak in 1A Special District 5 (8 Man) this week by beating Mohawk, 72-18. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Devils.
Crow and Triangle Lake played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Crow eventually emerging with a 28-26 victory. Brayden Anderson threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 34 yards in the win.
McKenzie's dynamic duo of Bailey Adams and Blake Anderson proved tough for Mapleton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Adams threw for 228 yards and five touchdowns and Anderson had 89 yards receiving. Caleb Scrivner helped McKenzie's passing attack out by catching two balls for 69 yards.
Tanner Eastlick was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 115 yards on 19 carries as the Cougars defeated the Sailors. Logan Drullinger also contributed to the rushing game with 78 yards on the ground.
McKenzie's Victor Vidal and Anderson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A Special District 5 (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Vidal has thrown for 1202 yards this season, while Anderson, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 24 catches for 537 yards. Crow's Eastlick leads the league in rushing yards with 514.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Brian Brands' team and Neil Barrett's team. The Cougars comes into the matchup ranked 16th in the state, while the Eagles ranks 20th.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when McKenzie takes on Crow. The Eagles' offense has racked up 262 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Cougars have allowed only 124 on the year.
There should be lots of points scored when Crow and McKenzie face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cougars comes in having scored 256 this season, while the Eagles have scored 262. Crow scored 28 points last week as it topped the Lakers.
Lowell led the league in scoring this week after putting up 72 points on the Indians.
