Softball Recap: St. James Wildcats vs. Patterson Lumberjacks
St. James had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-14 to make it ten. They came up short against the Patterson Lumberjacks, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lumberjacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-8 two weeks ago.
Alivia Mayet was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kiley Davis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
As for Patterson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
