IMG Academy Royal hadn't done well against Inspiration Academy recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The IMG Academy Royal Ascenders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Inspiration Academy Lions. This was a revenge game for the Ascenders: when they faced off against the Lions last Thursday, they had to take a 8-2 loss.

Conor Donahue looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kanta Miyabe was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Pino, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

IMG Academy Royal is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Inspiration Academy moved to 5-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, IMG Academy Royal will square off against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Inspiration Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Inspiration Academy is facing Palmetto at the right time seeing as Palmetto is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
